What's happening...

Wow this term is just flying by!

We are now working on our inquiry unit for the term which is 'Games'. We have begun by talking about what knids of games there are and what kinds of games we like to watch and play.
Please take some time to talk to your children about the kinds of games that you like to watch and play and the kinds of games that you played when you were young.

As you know we have now begun the formal part of PMP. (Perceptual Motor Programme)
This involves the children moving around 5 different stations. Each is run by a parent or teacher who guides the children through the activity. The children were very excited to get started and really enjoyed their first sessions. A big thank you to all the parents who are helping with this. It is a fantastic programme that could not run without you.

We have two children who are currently coming for pre entry visits and will soon begin school in Room 3. There names are Isaac and Tyler. Please say hi to them and their parents if you come accross them.

Sadly we said goodbye to Kaleb this term. He and his family have moved to Australia to spend some time in less shaky ground.  I have given them our blog address so hopefully thay will keep in touch.

Last week Thomas Straker who is a student teacher from the College of Education, University of Canterbury came to visit us. Thomas will be completing a five week placement in Room 3 beginning in week 6. Please introduce yourselves and make him feel welcome.

Lastly a note from me ...
My Maeve is starting school in September! This is a very exciting time for me, and a reminder of what it's like to be in the parent shoes. She has had her first visit which she loved so I hope my turn her will be just as successful.
